Verb , Types of verb in English

Verb Description – விளக்கம்  

  ஒரு செயல், நிலை அல்லது நிகழ்வை விவரிக்க பயன்படும் ஒரு சொல் வினைச்சொல் என்று அழைக்கப்படுகிறது.

    A word is used to describe an action, state or occurrence , and forming the main part of the sentence is called verb. 

Main Verb (or) Active Verb

     ▰Learn – (அறி)கற்றல்

▰Read –  படி

▰Write – எழுது

▰Speak – பேசு

▰Discuss – விவாதி

▰Play – விளையாடு

Auxiliary verb (Helping or Be Verb)

     -  am , are , be , been , being   -  இரு ,இருக்கின்றன,இரு ,இருந்தது, இருத்தல்.

      -  is , was , were   -    இரு, இருந்தது, இருந்தன.

      -  do , does , did   -    செய், செய் ,செய்தது.

      -  has , have , Had – கொண்டிரு (or) வைத்திரு, கொண்டிரு, கொண்டிருந்தது.

   Ex: I am a Teacher, He is in School, he does Kung fu/Karate.

Model Verb (Helping / Linking Verb) 

  Can, Could – முடியும்  |  may, might,- இருக்கலாம்

  must , ought to – கண்டிப்பாக/ வேண்டும்

  shall  , should – கண்டிப்பாக/ வேண்டும் (should is past of Shall)

  will , would –  கண்டிப்பாக ,  (would is past of will  60 % Confirmation)

 Ex:   

  - I must go to railway station - நான் ரயில் நிலையத்திற்கு செல்ல வேண்டும் .

  - I ought to write exam this year நான் இந்த ஆண்டு தேர்வு எழுத வேண்டும் .

 -  Exam Results may/might come this month – தேர்வு முடிவுகள் இந்த மாதத்தில் வரக்கூடும்/வரலாம்.
